Instructor Participation
Here's How It Works
-
Instructor Registration
If you are a college-level photography instructor, register below to begin. You can use your Instructor registration to reserve different beltline sections for different classes over different periods of time. Your registration will be activated through email confirmation.
-
Reserve a Beltline Section
You and your students can use the detailed interactive maps on this website to research and choose a Beltline section for your class project. Beltline section reservations can only be made through an Instructor account. Your reservation comes with a Detailed Map, Safety Tips and Navigation Guidelines. This information should be reviewed in class.
-
Class Password
During registration, you will generate a Class Password. Your students will need this password to sign up online and upload their photos.
-
Approve Student Registrations
You will automatically receive email notification each time one of your students signs up to participate. Simply click the link contained in the email to Approve your students.
-
Instructors Approve Photos for Exhibition
You will have the opportunity to curate your class show. Students upload their own photos (up to 4 each). Students will label their photos and pinpoint them onto their beltline section map. Remember to login to the website periodically to approve uploaded photos for exhibition. There is NO automatic email reminder sent to Instructors when students upload photos. No photos will appear on the website until Instructors Approve photos.
This is your class art project.
This website only provides information to help you organize your projects and a venue to exhibit your photos. Photography can be objective or subjective. You can focus on the details or the panoramic. You can photograph things you find or make. You can explore the sociological features along the beltline and collaborate with people and communities. Or you can discover the beltline’s natural, historical and architectural features. This project does not require the whole semester. Photographs should be taken in a group "field trip" arrangement.
Artistic research is practically limitless. We encourage you to be creative.
